Grito de Independencia de Mexico
The Cry of Independence is one of the most important historical events in Mexico , as it marks the beginning of the fight for the independence of Mexico and is commemorated every September 15. It is celebrated in Southwest Detroit and hosted by the Mexican Patriotic Committee and Mexican Consulate of Detroit at the Ford Recreation Engagement Center.
The beginning of the independence movement began when the priest Hidalgo incited the town of Dolores to rise up in arms against the Viceroyalty, summoning them all through the ringing of their parish bells and eloquently shouting the reasons why they could not stay. waiting without participating in this fight.
